Thousand-Plant Indoor Marijuana Farm Raided In Cleveland

Two brothers are in custody after Cleveland police executed search warrants last Friday and discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation they claimed had more than 1,000 plants.
Members of the Cleveland Division of Police Narcotics Unit and the Westlake Police Department worked "jointly" investigating the operation, reports WTAM 1100. As a result of the joint investigation, evidence was presented to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office and the search warrants were issued.

Victory in Arizona!

Arizona is now the 15th medical marijuana state!
This
fall, more than 1.7 million Arizona voters mailed in ballots and turned
out to support Proposition 203, a ballot initiative that would end the
arrest and imprisonment of patients for following their doctor's advice.
While it seemed as if the initiative had fallen short on election
night, it garnered enough support from late mail-in votes and
provisional ballots to produce a victory! This is a historic day for
Arizonans, who have made a significant contribution toward ending
marijuana prohibition in this country.
But this is also a time to give thanks to the people outside of Arizona who made this victory possible. Only
through the generous donations of our members was MPP able put over
half-a-million dollars worth of resources into helping Prop. 203
succeed.
People across the country gave money to support
an initiative that may never directly affect them because they know
that attacking marijuana prohibition on every front is crucial to the
long-term success of our movement. Thanks to those donors, MPP was able
to do things like draft the initiative, pay for the signature drive to
place Prop. 203 on the ballot, put consultants on the ground, and much,
much more!

10 Lessons Learned from Marijuana Election Defeats

Marijuana supporters nationwide awoke on November 3rd to find they had been defeated in all four statewide initiatives on the ballot. While losing these battles is not good news for our movement, the lessons we've learned and coalitions we've formed will help us win the war even sooner.
California's Prop 19 received 3.4 million votes for legalization, which represents 46.1% of the voters. This is the best a statewide marijuana legalization measure has ever done, besting Nevada 2002 (39%), Alaska 2004 (44%), Colorado 2006 (41%), and Nevada 2006 (44%)
The
most recent Gallup Poll showed 58% support among Westerners for
"legalization". That means there are 12% of our supporters who dropped
their support for legalization once the details are spelled out. What
lessons have we learned from the loss? I believe there are ten main
lessons we need to learn to succeed in 2012.

Yes On Prop. 19 Campaign Releases TV Advertisement

The campaign to pass Proposition 19, the California ballot measure to legalize the private adult use and cultivation of cannabis, released a television ad today featuring former San Jose police chief Joseph McNamara, who makes a strong public safety case for ending the current prohibition laws.
Says McNamara in the ad (view below):”Let’s be honest: The war against marijuana has failed. I know from 35 years in law enforcement. Today, it’s easier for a teenager to buy pot than beer. Proposition 19 will tax and control marijuana just like alcohol. It will generate billions of dollars for local communities, allow police to focus on violent crimes, and put drug cartels out of business. Join me and many others in law enforcement. Vote YES on Proposition 19!”
McNamara served as San Jose’s chief of police for 15 years.
